Watch Jake the Baker’s exciting Student Cake Decorating Contest! Culinary school students will compete for cash prizes and exposure in Bakers Diary! On Sunday, April 10, award-winning baking artist Justine Martin will host and attendees are invited to watch the next generation of bakers make and sculpt their cakes throughout the day and be on the main stage at 3 p.m. to watch them perform their creations to the judges!

Known as the Pod to Plate Food Consultant, Jane collaborates and partners with the food and nutrition industry across North America.

Educate the next generation: A competitive labor market puts concerns about the next generation at the forefront. Join the leaders in bakery education as we tackle key questions: How is the baking industry training the next generation of bakers? What can be done to standardize certification across Canada to make it portable for the bakers of tomorrow?

Demonstration: Shaping and Scoring Techniques for Artisan Bread Baking

Marcus Mariathas, award-winning, world-traveling master baker. Vice President of Product Development at Weston Foods (FGF Brands), will demonstrate shaping and scoring techniques. In 2015, he competed for Team Canada to win the Louis Lesaffre Americas Cup in the Baguettes and Breads of the World category. The team qualified for the Coupe de la Boulangerie, a first in Canada!
