DP World launches Global Business Corporation and invites “big business” to set up shop in Dubai

“With the growth of manufacturing in this region, our air, sea, road and rail infrastructure connects Dubai to markets around the world,” said Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World in a statement. “With the launch of GBC, we plan to be the standard bearer for ambitious, high-growth businesses around the world.

“We want them to thrive and we believe Dubai is the perfect place to realize their ambitions.”

The Company will focus on raising awareness of the strengths and advantages of Dubai as a location for high-value centralized business operations of large corporations, such as head offices, functional centers, financial and treasury centers.

“As governments, central banks and bankers debate how to control spiraling inflation, the business community is also looking for new solutions,” said Mohammed Al Muallem, executive vice president of DP World.

“Multinational companies are thinking more strategically than ever about how and where they do business. That’s why we believe new and innovative approaches are needed to help companies deliver these factors,” he said.

“All points to Dubai as a destination for head office or regional hubs that can really add value and agility with the launch of GBC.”

The company’s business-friendly ecosystem includes special economic zones, the region’s largest commercial port, and a comprehensive portfolio of services and solutions. By connecting businesses to business enablers across Dubai, GBC will help businesses find scale and operate ‘seamlessly’.

“Today, our plan is to become the standard bearer for ambitious multinationals focused on strategic growth in a reconfigured post-pandemic world,” Al Muallem said.
