GDI Forms 5G and Edge Accelerator Coalition with AWS, Cisco, Dell Technologies, Splunk and T-Mobile

Companies will accelerate the adoption of innovative and cost-effective 5G solutions for government agencies

FALLS CHURCH, Va., November 10, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics, today announced that it has formed a coalition with some of the nation’s leading technology and telecommunications conglomerates – Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cisco, Dell Technologies, Splunk and T-Mobile – to accelerate the adoption of 5G, advanced wireless and edge technologies in government agencies.

5G technology is revolutionizing the ability to communicate and interact securely around the world through sensors, internet-connected devices and high-quality video. The 10x improvements in latency, speed and capacity, as well as the enhanced interface and integration possibilities that 5G offers have opened the doors to advanced applications that have broad applicability in the entire government.

The GDI 5G and Edge Accelerator Coalition is collaborating with government agencies leveraging GDI’s Advanced Wireless Emerge Lab to identify use cases and develop prototypes and customizable solutions that will make it faster, easier and more cost-effective to deploy 5G, advanced and edge wireless capabilities. These solutions will support the unique mission requirements of federal, state, and local agencies, from the enterprise to the edge, in a wide variety of applications, including military, logistics and supply chain, healthcare, education and smart infrastructure.
