Monashee Health Collective first of its kind in Canada to achieve B Corp status – Vernon News

The clinic achieves high status

Monashee Health Collective is now officially a socially responsible company.

Vernon Health Care Clinic has received B Corporation Certification, which is a designation by the non-profit group B Lab that a company meets high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors ranging from benefits social and charitable donations to materials supply chain practices and inputs.

Monashee Health Collective said it was the first allied health clinic offering chiropractic and massage therapy care in Canada to receive B Corp certification.

“We started this process after seeing Natures Fare in Vernon do business the right way,” Monashee Health Collective owner and chiropractor Steve Piper said in a press release.

“They were previously a certified B Corp and always took the innovative way of doing sustainable business within the community. It was wonderful. We have always been on a mission to promote longevity and resilience through active health.

“I felt that adding community and environmental sustainability was a reverse way of achieving our mission. Joining a network of like-minded organizations creates a collective impact for health and well-being. We are honored to receive this distinction and to be part of the B Corp community.
